Walking Through Grief, Remembering Those We Have Lost

My Story
Hello everyone, and thank you for visiting my page!
DISCLAIMER: THIS IS MY FIRST CHARITY WALK, AND EVEN THOUGH I’M CURRENTLY INJURED, I’M COMMITTED TO COMPLETING THE 10K WALK, RAIN OR SHINE, BECAUSE IT’S FOR A GREAT CAUSE.
On March 23rd, I will be participating in the Mind Walk at Battersea Park in London, walking 10km to raise funds for a better mental health system.
The reason I’m doing this walk is deeply personal. Over the years, I’ve faced my share of grief, trauma, and mental health challenges, and it’s been a journey that’s shaped me profoundly. By taking part in this walk, I hope to inspire others who are going through their own struggles, reminding them that they’re not alone and that seeking help is both brave and essential.
In the past year, I’ve experienced the heart-wrenching loss of my dad to cancer in June, as well as the sudden passing of Jonah, Aubs, Gino, DJ, and Makyle— all while recovering from an Achilles rupture and undergoing tendon reconstruction surgery.
This year, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone—quite literally—in support of those who are silently struggling, those grieving the loss of loved ones, those affected by mental health challenges, and those who have had the courage to seek help.
I’m also walking in memory of my dear friend James Ansell’s sister, Gracie, who tragically lost her life to mental health struggles. This is an incredibly painful time for James and his family, and I want to show them that we stand with them, offering our love, strength, and support.
This year, the basketball community has faced the heartbreaking loss of five incredible individuals, which has left a significant impact on us all. (DJ Wol, Makyle Bayley, Eva Darold-Tchikaya, TJ Hibbert and Idryck Wilkinson) I’m walking for them and for everyone affected by this tragedy. I hope you’ll join me in raising money to support those in need of mental health assistance.
Any contribution you can make is deeply appreciated. Your generosity will not only support this cause but will also make a positive impact in ways we may not always see.
Psalm 34:18 – "The Lord is close to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
Thank you for taking the to listen to my TedTalk, and for your kindness.
